Another game that I miss. It was a great mix of an action side-scroller and a RPG. You were one of two brothers who were members of a gang, and had to rescue a girlfriend/sister/something. My memory is a bit old at this time. But the action was pretty nonstop as you roamed around River City fighting other gang members. As you went along, you could use money to buy food for health, or buy "power-ups" by reading books or training. Pure genius. Sometimes I think games these days are more worried about graphics and sound than actual gameplay and story. This game didn't have to worry about those things.
One of the coolest things about the game was being able to use all kinds of weapons. I remember using chains, pipes, brass knuckles and even tires and barrels! Such variety in your arsenal, it was fun to just run around beating guys in to the ground in such random ways.
Another in my collection of must-haves if you still own a NES. Or try to find it as a ROM.
